ATLANTA (AP) -- "Greg Maddux could be scratched from his Opening Day start for the Atlanta Braves because of a strained buttocks."

people down south frighten me. any idea of how this could have happened? actually, i don't wanna know. nevertheless, kriheli is pumped up for opening day ... going to see the mets and pirates tomorrow afternoon at shea.

mo vaughn is great. i love how he is not afraid of letting go to the media and not taking any isht from anyone. go get him hit-dog! “I got hardware, I got playoff appearances, I got an MVP. I've been to the playoffs twice. What the hell has he done?” - baseball quote of the year. i am sooooo looking forward to the upcoming season. i am going to opening day at shea stadium on monday and i couldn't be more psyched. lets go mets. ok... end of sports rant.

big props to cynthia gonzalez for winning my oscar pool that most people were too chicken-isht to participate in. i did not do too well however. i can't believe memento lost out on best original screenplay. what is more shocking was how it was left out of the best picture honors altogether. sad. big props to halle and denzel who finally got the recognition they rightfully deserved. big birthday shout outs to ave and ariane... the lalla's represent march.

getting tired of this layout. mostly because it says nothing about me. so i am looking at something more defining in a forthcoming version eleven. i'm a picky bastard.

Tuesday, March 19, 2002

today is the 4 year anniversary of the day i moved into my apartment. can't believe it has been that long. i will post up photos of my place soon for you all to see (if you wanna, that is). does anyone here want to join in on my oscar awards betting pool? $5 to join. winner takes all. should be fun. i should be getting a lot of entries, so place your bets by saturday night. makes watching the oscars more exciting, no?

a joke email i received today: "A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. The next week, the man realized that he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight to Chicago. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (AND LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and that he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't woken him when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up." MEN JUST AREN'T EQUIPPED FOR THESE SORT OF CONTESTS.

ok... is this supposed to really be a joke or some satirical social commentary? because... it makes no sense and i do not believe it is funny. in fact... don't women sleep more (in general) than men anyways? all the ones i know definitely outsleep their male counterparts. i know this is not the point of the post, but is this 'joke' saying that men don't think before they act? and that women have the edge in that department? it is stupid. what do you all think? i think i am gonna start collecting these dumb emails and make a seperate section for it.

"i don't really know
why we have to go
our separate ways (separate ways)
whether or not we grow
after the seeds are sown
only time can say...
...or are we better off just fighting
you on your side, me on mine
(i don't wanna fight, i really don't)
are the words that i keep writing
only pearls before the swine"

why do people always refer to so-and-so "not being rocket science" when making a point about something not difficult. now, i hate clichés as much as most of you do (i hope), but surely rocket science can't be the hardest ideology to grasp. why can't we refer to astrophysics... or better yet, a philosophical branch like existentialism? now i may not be able to put together a device that can fly through space, but i'm sure it would be easier than trying to figure out what our purpose of being is. can you tell i am in a funked up mood? you feelin' me here?

i find it very interesting that my peoples are often quick to assume that i would adjust my schedule and drop what i am doing in favor of something that is prevalent in their respective worlds at the moment. however trivial that sounds, why am i the one to always be flexible with my schedule? i have tried playing the other hand several times in the recent past, and in more cases than not, i do not receive similar courtesy. not only do i find this interesting but i am learning more and more about myself and how i have been far too patient with this kind of behavior.

feedback was nuts on the 100 things about me post, yesterday. i am psyched that people actually took the time to read it. i guess it makes up for all the time it took to write the damn thing. speaking of writing... i know i promised a couple poetry sets to be forthcoming on this site, and i didn't live up to that promise. particularly because i did not finish it. but they are indeed coming. i am almost done with them and hope to have them up by tomorrow. incidentally... if anyone visiting here has a penchant for words and art, and has a creative fire inside of them that is ready to burst, please contact me if you wanna contribute to purpleprose as a staff artist/writer. i will send you details.

due to popular demand... err.. well not really, but just because a certain texan asked me to do so... here is 100 things about me that you probably wouldn't know. before you click on the link, make sure you really prepare yourself. i am warning you that this list is incredibly boring, but if you MUST know me better, by all means go entertain yourself. i think everyone should put one of these up on their personal sites. it took me hours to write this nonsense. did anyone catch cbs' 9/11 documentary? depressing. it was like a bad real world episode. i couldn't sit through the whole thing. cannot believe it has only been six months. it feels like an eternity has passed. i barely remember times before the tragedy.

yes! it's about time. now the focus will be on full length albums. a lot of the annoying pop acts will quickly fade away with this decision (hopefully). to quote the man, prince "it's about the whole book." i couldn't agree more. singles are a dead art. they take away from album sales and the whole idea/work for the artist in question is lost. who buys singles these days anyways? ever since the whole mp3 thing hit, i haven't bought one single. but it hasn't stopped me from buying full length albums of artists that i dig. has anybody here actually stopped buying albums. i know there is a few of you... but i would like to know why... is it because you are a cheap bastard or is it because you are just a casual music enthusiast, who would rather have buffet than pick a dinner?

was supposed to go out with my npny buddies this evening, but a mass headache has taken over me... and its rendering me useless for the evening. i can barely type this out but hopefully it will subside shortly as the aspirin i just took kicks in. this sucks. i think this is the result of an overworked week. i was ok during the day but the evening came with a punch. ouch. hopefully i will wake up sunday morning feeling better and writing better posts than this.

scratch the day off plan... looks like i have a full plate today. be back later. ugh. in the meantime, ashley wants to know whether she can trust her boyfriend due to a photograph she has acquired. while this is an isolated topic, i find this topic very interesting and it is very prevalent in most any relationship. please take the time to give her the advice she needs on this issue. it is a sensitive topic for women it seems and its time that we all give our two cents in.

i am drawing blanks today. i think its because i am overworked. i threw together 3 different independent design projects (1 web, 2 print) and i am mentally exhausted. still not completely done, but i am looking forward to this weekend which i am going to take off from any kind of work. starting tomorrow (that is if i can wrap up one of my projects tonight). i am gonna kick back and do nothing but sleep and watch cheesy movies and dread the upcoming week. my average hits per day on this site is starting to climb at an accellerated pace. perhaps it's because i am pimped by so many beautiful people on their respective sites. much love to you all.

this is probably one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind. i can't believe how many times i have totally ignored it in the supermarket... instead opting to make my own. terrible mistake. this is by far the best i have had. get the one with the chocolate chip & walnuts in it... wonderful. highly, highly recommended. especially if you are a fiend for cookies like i am.

wonderful, just wonderful. i guess i have to seriously consider less populated areas as possible destinations. this is outrageous. but again i would like to point at fanaticism with religion as the root of this problem. can't we all see the magnitude of this problem? oh, and this does not help ease the tension either. thanks to alan and derek for the links and the heads up.

seems that kriheli.com is getting a lot of love lately and i must say that i am honored to be praised by so many talented, beautiful people. this site is just a small extension of myself and i enjoy doing this for fun. getting the type of response and feedback that i have experienced lately is a big bonus. thank you to all the people that make me realize that i do indeed have an audience. while i cannot speak for your tastes (like, why kriheli?) i am not going to contest them either. i can only hope my cartoon, inky, is met with a similar response when it goes on the road late this summer. incidentally, anybody outside of new york city willing to help me pimp my cartoon to peeps in their town, please contact me... i can send you information and possible distribution material. thanks again to everybody.

recent musings got me thinking about selling my apartment since the value more than doubled since i purchased it back in 98. it might be a good idea to pay off my debts, my mortgage and have enough loot left over to move elsewhere. perhaps outside of new york city. at least temporarily because i could never leave new york permanently. the change might be good for me. possible destinations: portland, maine -- seattle, washington -- denver, colorado -- chicago, illinois. any suggestions from the visitors on this site?

rkriheli: you are like a science project gone right.
neeneecam: lol !!!!!!!! ahahaaaaaaaaaaa
neeneecam: thats the coolest thing i heard

gotta give it up for nee nee! she praised my site (and me) and for that i am eternally grateful and she gets major props. go visit her site immediately and tell her that she is fine. because she doesn't seem to believe it. ok.. enough pimping of her site. oh... and now i am moderator of her fanclub too. haha.

i have been on this kick of watching indian movies obsessively. mainly those with my favorite actress, aishwarya rai - former miss world. she kills me. i picked up a couple dvd's recently and have been hooked despite the silly themes, over-dramatic acting and almost predictable love-triangle subplots. there is something very colorful and delightful about these films and i recommend them highly. if you wanna get started. check out "taal" - not only is it cheesy, the dialogue is deep. (i wonder if that is intentional). mera dil tera deewana mai to tujhpe marti hun!
